Art Institute of Chicago

Known for its hundred thousands world class artwork, the main building was built for the 1893 world’s Columbian exposition. The art institute has a variety of collections in the form of prints, painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, architectural drawings and much more. 

Millennium Park

Located in downtown Chicago in the vicinity of Michigan avenue, Columbus drive, Randolph street and Monroe street. Millennium park is a part of larger Grant Park.

There is a 110 ton polished, mirror-like stainless steel surface sculpture named Cloud Gate which reflects the surroundings, including the building, the sky, and tourists who walk through the central arch.

Crown fountain, an outdoor concert venue and Lurie Garden are other attractions of this park. This place is close to many major attractions and great for shopping also.

Navy Pier

Opened in 1916, in its starting days this place is known as an amusement area and shipping facility.

Today this place is one of Chicago’s most popular tourist attractions including shops, restaurants, parks and gardens. You can also visit the indoor botanical garden known as Crystal Gardens.

Willis Tower SkyDeck

Before 1996 these towers used to be the world’s tallest office block. Now there are many taller buildings, but you can get a bird’s eye view of Chicago’s impressive architecture.

This building took three years to build and was opened to the public in 1974. It has an observation area called the SkyDeck on 103th floor. 

They have a glass box with a glass floor, where visitors can stand and look directly down at the city below.

Field Museum of Natural History

It was founded in 1893 to showcase biological and anthropological collections and originally called the Columbian Museum of Chicago. To honor Marshall Field in 1905 the name changed to Field Museum.

This Museum has a permanent collection featuring approximately 20 million artifacts and specimens along with a variety of disciplines including geology, botany, zoology and anthropology.
